SMAHEC OFFERS WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES ON CULTURAL COMPETENCE


 

 

SMAHEC RECEIVES FUNDING TO IMPLEMENT INTRODUCTION TO MEDICAL INTERPRETER TRAINING PROGRAM

 

SMAHEC is subcontracting with the Division of Medical Assistance/Massachusetts 

Health Access Program at the University of Massachusetts Medical School to implement a 15 hour Introduction to Medical Interpreter Training program.  This   training provides an introduction to the basic skills used during the triadic interview.  The curriculum includes topics such as interpreting skills, code of ethics, triadic and cross cultural communication, medical terminology and professional protocols.  This program provides an Introduction to the field only and does not qualify one to be a certified medical interpreter.

Each set of companion cassette tapes include 12 individual tapes that correspond to the textbook.
